We do not represent the government nor are we sponsored by the government but want to do our part to help ensure others cannot use any information found on this website to do harm to America, her citizens, or our way of life. Because we focus on helping veterans and provide tools for networking it is possible the information may be of interest to anyone seeking to do America harm. Thank you for registering to participate in our Virtual Job Fair. Please take the time to read over this short guide to ensure you are prepared for success during the Virtual Job Fair. We hope to have at least 50 companies participating in the Virtual Job Fair which will give you plenty of companies to research and communicate with recruiters.

Profile: We have uploaded a basic user’s guide in our “General Discussions” forum to help you understand how to edit and populate your profile. Some of the basic features include a bio and/or about me area, a place to upload a profile picture. You have the option of uploading an avatar but we recommend you stick to a real picture. You are welcome to use a head to toe or head and shoulder picture. I prefer the head and shoulder picture.

Resumes: Please post your resume in the “Virtual Job Fair” forum for “Resumes”. This accomplishes two things; first it puts your resume in a folder accessible by HR personnel/recruiters so they can easily find your information. The second thing it does is ensure only HR personnel/recruiters are able to view your information. You are welcome to post your resume as part of your profile but we recommend you only post it in the forum.

When posting your resume please cut/paste a text only version of your resume and upload an attachment in either word and/or pdf format. This also accomplishes two things; first it makes your resume searchable and will allow us to index it to give recruiters a way of finding the types of resumes they are looking for. The second thing it does is give the recruiters the ability to download a formatted copy of your resume like you would have passed out at a regular job fair.

Chatrooms: These will be setup and available during the job fair. Our plan is to post a schedule to let you know when specific recruiters will be available and what their room name will be. This will give you the opportunity to network with recruiters almost like you would in a regular job fair.

What is Operational Security (OPSEC)?

The Premise of OPSEC
The premise of OPSEC is that the accumulation of one or more elements of sensitive/unclassified information or data could damage national security by revealing classified information.

The Goal of OPSEC
The goal of OPSEC, as a "countermeasures" program, is to deny an adversary pieces of the intelligence puzzle.

The Intelligence Puzzle
Intelligence collection and analysis is very much like assembling a picture puzzle. Intelligence collectors are fully aware of the importance of obtaining small bits of information (or "pieces" of a puzzle) from many sources and assembling them to form the overall picture.

Intelligence collectors use numerous methods and sources to develop pieces of the intelligence puzzle . . .their collection methods range from sophisticated surveillance using highly technical electronic methods to simple visual observation of activities (these activities are referred to as "indicators").

Information may be collected by monitoring radio and telephone conversations, analyzing telephone directories, financial or purchasing documents, position or "job" announcements, travel documents, blueprints or drawings, distribution lists, shipping and receiving documents, even personal information or items found in the unclassified trash.

In the case of a website, information is easily collected by downloading the content and analyzing it for information. Lets do our part to keep America safe by not posting anything which may be of use to our adversaries.
